Concrete paths and patios in Canberra

Side paths, front paths and patios that tie the yard together, drain properly and stay level underfoot.

Paths that last

A path is a small slab, so it needs the same care: a firm base, a gentle fall so water runs off, and control joints so it doesn't crack across the middle.

Side paths are often tight, with fences, downpipes and garden beds to work around. We sort out levels at the house so water runs away from the walls, not towards them.

Patios

A patio is somewhere you'll spend time, so we think about where the sun falls, how it meets the house and the lawn, and which finish feels right underfoot.

Common questions

Can you pour a narrow side path?

Yes. Narrow access is common and we plan how to get the concrete in, whether that's by barrow or pump.

Will my path be slippery?

Not if it has the right finish. A broom finish or exposed aggregate gives good grip, especially on slopes.
